Imagine the Deep South, as Europe - that's my home town, St. Augustine, Florida. Since 1565, art, architecture and cultural influences from all over the historical world has inspired artists, travelers, adventurer seekers....and me to this amazing place.
Working in the beautiful world of classical music is a privilege I perpetually hope for and welcome into my life, not only for the music, but the players/the people - on/off stage - and all they bring to it.
The beautiful and often monk like solitude of photography is worthless without the sweet loving whispering screaming dreaming rising falling singing motion stillness teaching learning playing dancing feeling sleeping waking eternal raging ocean of OUR Beautiful Humanity. Just ad love and we are ONE.
Many Rivers To Cross
No doubt, traveling is one of the chief benefits for a photographer. Sometimes, I go to - photograph - then work. Sometimes it's the other way around. No matter. It is always a thrill to go to the Epic Everywhere, and cross the many rivers.
Does light have time to bend? I wonder. If it looks bent, did it really bend? Is a illusion really just a illusion? Or is it more than that? Many of the images you will see are hapax legomenon in nature- that is to say, they are of places and moments which you can only travel to once.
Dreaming in Color
I dream in color and so does my camera. I have a book of color Ansel Adams - at first I thought it was color pictures 'of him' - which would be great - because when I was younger, I imagined that he lived in a black & white world - that he, Weston, Brassai and the Other Greats existed before color invented itself.
